KATHMANDU: Traffic police have turned back more than 250 vehicles from the Nagdhunga checkpoint, citing poor weather and hazardous road conditions along the Nagdhunga–Muglin section.
According to Metropolitan Traffic Police Office chief SSP Nawaraj Adhikari, the vehicles were stopped from heading west after landslides struck several locations in Dhading district. He said there was no immediate possibility of clearing the debris, prompting authorities to divert vehicles back toward Kathmandu.
Since early morning, traffic police have been using loudspeakers at Nagdhunga to urge travelers not to embark on the route due to the continued risk of landslides.
