Tribhuvan International Airport closed for two hours due to heavy rainfall



KATHMANDU: Flights at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) were suspended for two hours on Saturday morning following continuous rainfall in the Kathmandu Valley.

Airport spokesperson Jenji Sherpa said both domestic and international flights were halted due to adverse weather conditions. “Flights will resume once the weather clears,” he said.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, rainfall has intensified since this morning across much of the country, including the Valley. The department has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall today and tomorrow.
