RPP demands PM Oli’s clarification on reported agreement with China’s GSI

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has demanded that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli clarify reports that Nepal has agreed to join China’s Global Security Initiative (GSI).

Speaking during the zero hour of the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, RPP General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Rana sought an explanation from the Prime Minister on behalf of his party.

“When our honorable Prime Minister visited China, Chinese media reported that Nepal had agreed to the Global Security Initiative,” Rana said. “This contradicts our non-aligned foreign policy. If true, it could have serious consequences for Nepal in the future.”

Rana stressed that the government must come before Parliament to clarify. “If we are deviating from our non-aligned foreign policy or adopting a different approach, this House must be informed,” he added.
