NC to nominate Ramhari Khatiwada for Parliamentary Hearing Committee chair

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to nominate Ramhari Khatiwada for the post of Chairperson of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, following his resignation from the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.

The vacancy arose after Congress lawmaker Ishwari Neupane resigned as chair of the State Affairs Committee on August 26. Khatiwada is now set to contest for the position left vacant in the joint committee.

The election for the chairperson will be held on Friday, with the nomination process scheduled for Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM.

Responding to rumors about his candidacy, Khatiwada said, “I have heard the rumors. I am ready to take up the responsibility if the party assigns it to me,” he told Khabarhub.
