One killed, four injured in lightning strike



KARNALI: One person was killed and four others injured in a lightning strike that occurred in Bheriganga Municipality-8, Surkhet, on Friday.

According to the District Police Office, 27-year-old Dil Bahadur Shahi died around 3:00 p.m. while undergoing treatment at Mehelkuna Hospital. He was struck by lightning while working in a paddy field belonging to a local resident, Bir Bahadur Thapa.

Police said two teams were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving the report.

The four others injured in the incident have been identified as 17-year-old Parbat BK, 19-year-old Hum Bahadur Thapa, 18-year-old Naveen BK, and 30-year-old Sunita Giri. They sustained minor injuries.
