Nepal Rastra Bank releases Friday’s foreign exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the official foreign exchange rates for today (Friday), showing a decline in the value of several major foreign currencies, including the US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Australian dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar.

According to NRB, the buying rate for one US dollar today is NPR 136.20, while the selling rate is NPR 136.80. This marks a decrease from yesterday’s rates of NPR 136.83 for buying and NPR 137.43 for selling.

The euro is trading today at a buying rate of NPR 160.63 and a selling rate of NPR 161.34, compared to yesterday’s rates of NPR 160.95 and NPR 161.66.

Similarly, the pound sterling is being bought at NPR 186.04 and sold at NPR 186.86, down from yesterday’s NPR 187.53 and NPR 188.35. The Australian dollar has also declined, with a buying rate of NPR 89.61 and a selling rate of NPR 90.00, compared to yesterday’s NPR 89.84 and NPR 90.24.

Likewise, the Kuwaiti dinar is being bought at NPR 446.34 and sold at NPR 448.30, a drop from yesterday’s NPR 448.31 (buying) and NPR 450.28 (selling). The Bahraini dinar is trading at a buying rate of NPR 361.30 and a selling rate of NPR 362.89, compared to yesterday’s rates of NPR 362.96 and NPR 364.57.

NRB has stated that these rates are subject to revision as needed. It also noted that exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary, and the most recent updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
