Heavy rainfall likely in parts of Koshi Province



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rain in some areas of Koshi Province, as monsoon winds have begun affecting most parts of the region.

Meanwhile, western and local winds continue to influence the weather in the western and central parts of the country. This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the country.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, with isolated showers expected in other provinces.

The Department has warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two locations of Koshi Province. Light rain and snowfall are also likely in some high hilly and mountainous regions.

For tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, while clearer skies are forecast in the remaining areas.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, with isolated showers in the hilly parts of other provinces.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi and Madhes Provinces. Light rain and snowfall may occur in high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
