KUKL suspends Melamchi water supply in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has announced the suspension of Melamchi water supply in the Kathmandu Valley.

In a notice issued today, KUKL stated that water distribution has been halted until further notice due to flooding and increased turbidity in the Melamchi River.

The utility has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the disruption.

As a precautionary measure to protect the Melamchi Drinking Water Project from potential monsoon-related damage, the project is typically shut down at the onset of rainfall and resumes only after weather conditions improve.
