CHITWAN: Three rhinos have been relocated from the western sector to the eastern sector of Chitwan National Park (CNP).

The relocation took place on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

The rhinos were released in the Khagendramalli area of the eastern sector.

Among them, two are females, aged 15 and 16, and the third is a male, approximately 18 years old, according to CNP Information Officer Abinash Thapa Magar.

The rhinos were tranquilized for the relocation. This year, CNP plans to relocate four rhinos internally, compared to six last year.

Earlier, a study team recommended the internal relocation of 10 rhinos from the western sector.

A team of technicians will be bringing another male rhino to the eastern sector soon.
