KATHMANDU: The domestic bullion market witnessed a notable surge on Wednesday, with gold prices increasing by Rs 800 per tola.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs 254,100 per tola for the day. On Tuesday, gold was traded at Rs 253,300 per tola.
While gold has struggled to surpass its previous peak, silver has been on a remarkable rally. For the fourth consecutive day, silver prices hit a new record, rising by Rs 110 per tola on Wednesday.
The price of silver climbed from Rs 3,545 per tola on Tuesday to Rs 3,655 per tola today. Since Sunday, silver has set a fresh record every day, driven by increasing demand and bullish international trends.
Bullion traders say the sharp rise in silver prices reflects heightened market activity ahead of the festival and wedding season, while global uncertainties continue to influence both gold and silver valuations.
