Vice President Yadav calls for full implementation of disability rights

KATHMANDU: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has emphasized the need for the full implementation of the constitutional rights of persons with disabilities.

Extending his best wishes on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025, he stated, “The Constitution of Nepal ensures the right of citizens with disabilities to live with identity, dignity, and self-respect, as well as their right to equal access to public services and facilities. This must be understood, internalized, and practiced by all.”

He noted that collective efforts are essential to promote equal participation, opportunities, and empathy for persons with disabilities. Stating that the day, observed globally on December 3 every year, serves as a reminder of the shared commitment to ensure the rights, equality, inclusion, and respect of persons with disabilities, he expressed confidence that the occasion would bring renewed inspiration, energy, and dedication.

“We must unite to improve the living standards of persons with disabilities, protect their rights, and work continuously to ensure inclusion in every sector. Building a just, inclusive, and respectful society is our common responsibility,” he said.

“It is our duty to recognize the contributions of all citizens and create an environment where the abilities and potential of persons with disabilities can be fully utilized in nation-building,” the Vice President stated.
