Four industries pay first installment of overdue electricity fees; disconnected lines reconnected



KATHMANDU: Four industries in Rupandehi that had consumed electricity through dedicated and trunk lines have paid the first installment of their premium electricity arrears to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

The industries, Panchakanya Plastic, Panchakanya Steel Industries, Siddhartha Petplant, and Shyam Plastic, made the payments on Monday.

Following the payment, the previously disconnected electricity lines to these industries were reconnected, NEA Managing Director Manoj Silwal confirmed.

The arrears pertain to the use of dedicated and trunk lines from Magh 2072 to Baisakh 2075. The first installment amounts were:

Panchakanya Plastic: Rs 2,463,000
Panchakanya Steel: Rs 5,219,000
Siddhartha Petplant: Rs 18,300,000
Shyam Plastic: Rs 4,910,000

The total arrears have been divided into 28 installments, with the industries paying the first installment this week.
