KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Central Committee member Pradeep Paudel has claimed that the party will announce the schedule for its General Convention today, ahead of the upcoming elections.
Speaking to Khabarhub, Paudel said the timeline would be finalized after today’s meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee.
“There is almost unanimous agreement that the party’s General Convention should be held before the elections. The schedule will be announced after today’s meeting,” he said. “I believe the acting president will make it clear in today’s meeting and pave the way for holding the convention before the elections.”
However, Paudel stopped short of confirming whether the convention will take place before or after the national elections slated for March 5, 2026.. “Our effort is to hold the convention before the election; we are moving firmly in that direction,” he added.
