Westerly wind continues to bring light rain in hilly regions

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast light rain in some hilly and mountainous areas as the influence of the westerly wind persists across the country.

According to the Department, hilly regions will experience partly cloudy conditions, while most other areas are expected to remain mainly clear. Light rain or snowfall is likely at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Normal life was affected over the past few days due to rainfall triggered by Cyclone ‘Montha,’ which developed in the Bay of Bengal. The system also brought snowfall to several mountain areas.

Meanwhile, thirteen domestic and foreign tourists stranded at Tilicho Lake Base Camp in Disyang Rural Municipality-9, Manang, were rescued by a team from the Armed Police Force’s Mountain Rescue Training Center.
