Human Rights Commission continues complaint registration, monitoring during Dashain leave

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said it will continue registering complaints and monitoring urgent incidents even during the Dashain holidays across all of its 11 offices, including the central office in Lalitpur.

According to NHRC spokesperson Tika Ram Pokharel, the Janakpur provincial office has so far received one complaint of a human rights violation, which was immediately monitored by the office itself.

The commission has also urged the government to pay attention during the festive period, noting that public holidays often create difficulties for people’s mobility, an increase in criminal incidents, rising prices and black-market activities, as well as disruptions in the delivery of public services and supplies.
