Three-night traffic ban imposed in Makawanpur

MAKWANPUR: The Makawanpur District Administration Office has announced a three-night vehicular movement ban in response to heightened weather risks, including potential heavy rainfall and landslides.

According to the decision, Kantilokpath, the highway connecting Hetauda to Lalitpur, will be closed from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. from today to October 6.

Likewise, vehicular traffic on the Hetauda–Bhainse–Kathmandu section will be halted between 5 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the same period, according to the Chief District Office, Makwanpur.

The administration said the decision follows warnings issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, predicting heavy rainfall and a high risk of landslides in the area.

Residents living in riverside areas have been urged to remain on high alert to avoid loss of life and property. All security agencies, local governments, and volunteer groups have been directed to coordinate on disaster preparedness and emergency response efforts throughout the district.
