Nepal to kick off AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers against Tajikistan

KATHMANDU: Nepal will open its campaign in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers against host Tajikistan tonight. The match will take place at the Pamir Stadium in Dushanbe at 9:45 PM Nepali time.

Nepal is drawn in Group ‘K’, alongside Tajikistan, the Philippines, and Syria. The Nepali team will face Syria in their second match on September 6 and the Philippines in the third match on September 9. Syria and the Philippines will play the opening match of the group before Nepal’s game.

The qualifiers follow a single-round robin format, with the top team from each group securing a spot in next year’s Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the four best second-placed teams across the 11 groups will also qualify for the tournament.
