NEPSE goes past the 2,700 mark despite lower turnover

KATHMANDU:  Nepal’s stock market index NEPSE climbed past the 2700 mark on Thursday, closing at 2,703.24 points, up by 9.14 points from the previous trading day.

Despite the rise in the index, trading volume dipped slightly, with total turnover recorded at Rs 9.64 billion, compared to Rs 9.74 billion on Wednesday.

Out of the total traded companies, 122 saw price gains, while 125 declined, indicating mixed investor sentiment across sectors.

The finance sector led the rally, surging by 4.09% in a notable rebound after several days of underperformance. Despite the broader market’s recent upward trend since Sunday, finance companies had lagged behind — until today.
