Ram Kumari Jhakri says she has not received official clarification letter from party

KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Ram Kumari Jhakri has said she has not received any official clarification letter from the party, despite widespread media reports suggesting otherwise.

Speaking to reporters outside the party’s central office in Aloknagar before attending the ongoing secretariat meeting on Thursday, Jhakri remarked, “It seems clarification is being sought through the media by some powerful leaders. I haven’t received anything directly from the party.”

She criticized the leadership for public statements threatening disciplinary action, including expulsion, based on a recent speech she gave at a youth gathering.

“After the party issued a directive not to respond to internal matters publicly, I have remained silent. But the very leaders who issued that directive have made aggressive remarks on TV,” she said.

Jhakri accused senior leaders of launching personal attacks against her, even resorting to body-shaming. She also submitted a formal letter to the party requesting to be invited to the secretariat meeting to clarify her position.

“I’ve come here with a written request asking to speak directly in the meeting. I want to explain the context and content of my remarks in full detail,” she said.

Earlier, Jhakri had publicly called for early leadership change in the party during a gathering of the Youth Union in Lumbini on June 28.

Her remarks reportedly sparked internal backlash, leading to media speculation that she had been asked to clarify her stance.

However, Jhakri maintains that the media narrative is baseless and that the party leadership should handle internal matters transparently and respectfully within formal structures.
