Nepal set for U-16 semi-final clash with Malaysia



KATHMANDU: The Nepali cricket team is set to take on Malaysia in the first semi-final of the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup today.

The match will be held at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is scheduled to begin at 7:45 AM (local time) on Thursday.

Nepal enters the semi-final as the winner of Group A, having remained undefeated throughout the group stage. The team is aiming to carry forward its dominant form into the knockout round.

During the group stage, Nepal delivered impressive performances, defeating Bhutan by 298 runs, Indonesia by 370 runs, Japan by 9 wickets, and Singapore by 6 wickets.

Malaysia, meanwhile, qualified for the semi-final as the runner-up of Group B. They won three out of four matches in the group stage, losing one.

The winner of today’s match will advance to the final, where they will face the winner of the second semi-final between Hong Kong and Singapore, which is also scheduled for today.
