NRB publishes Thursday’s foreign exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the official foreign exchange rates for today (Thursday).

According to the central bank, the value of some foreign currencies, including the US dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar, has increased.

On the other hand, the value of currencies such as the Australian dollar, British pound, and euro has decreased.

Yesterday, this trend was reversed. The US dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar had weakened, while the Australian dollar, pound, and euro had appreciated in value.

According to the exchange rates released today, the buying rate of one US dollar is NPR 136.83, while the selling rate is NPR 137.43. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 136.52 and the selling rate was NPR 137.14.

Similarly, the euro is being traded at a buying rate of NPR 160.95 and a selling rate of NPR 161.66 today. This marks a decrease from yesterday’s rates, which stood at NPR 161.23 for buying and NPR 161.93 for selling.

The British pound has also seen a drop in value. Today’s buying rate is NPR 187.53, and the selling rate is NPR 188.35, compared to yesterday’s rates of NPR 187.96 and NPR 188.79, respectively.

The Australian dollar is being exchanged at a buying rate of NPR 89.84 and a selling rate of NPR 90.24 today. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 89.88 and the selling rate was NPR 90.28.

In contrast, the Kuwaiti dinar has strengthened slightly. Today, its buying rate is NPR 448.31, while the selling rate is NPR 450.28. Yesterday, these rates were NPR 447.53 and NPR 449.50, respectively.

The Bahraini dinar has also appreciated. Its buying rate today is NPR 362.96, and the selling rate is NPR 364.57. Yesterday, the respective rates were NPR 362.13 and NPR 363.72.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as necessary. It also noted that the rates offered by commercial banks may vary and advised the public to refer to the central bank’s official website for the most up-to-date information.
