KATHMADU: The main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Centre), has convened a meeting of opposition parties to discuss the ongoing parliamentary deadlock and the upcoming budget discussions for the next fiscal year.
The meeting is currently underway at the office of opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.
The opposition parties have remained firm on their stance that the Parliament will not be allowed to function until Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak resigns over his alleged involvement in the visit visa scandal.
Despite calls from ruling coalition partners Nepali Congress and CPN-UML to allow budget deliberations to proceed without obstruction, the opposition parties appear unwilling to budge from their position.
