Comedian Gautam, known for impersonating ‘Prachanda’, passes away



KATHMANDU: Comedian Ghanashyam Gautam, popularly known for impersonating Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Gautam had been undergoing treatment at the Cancer Hospital in Bhaktapur, for an extended period. He passed away on Monday night, according to family sources.

He gained widespread recognition for his satirical portrayal of ‘Prachanda’ in the popular television series Meri Basai. Gautam also appeared in various comedy programs, including Gaijatra.
