Birgunj Dry Port collects Rs 36.83 billion in revenue over nine months



BIRGUNJ: The Birgunj Dry Port Customs Office at Sirsiya has collected Rs 36.83 billion in revenue over the first nine months of the current fiscal year, achieving 61.34 percent of its annual target.

According to Information Officer Yubaraj Bhattarai, revenue collection has been steadily increasing in recent months.

The customs office collected Rs 3.75 billion in the month of Shrawan, followed by Rs 4.64 billion in Bhadra, Rs 4.36 billion in Asoj, and Rs 3.79 billion in Kartik.

In subsequent months, it raised Rs 3.22 billion in Mangsir, Rs 3.56 billion in Push, Rs 4.29 billion in Magh, Rs 4.68 billion in Faglun, and Rs 4.5 billion in Chaitra.

The Department of Customs had set a revenue target of Rs 60.04 billion for the Birgunj Dry Port for the current fiscal year. Officials are hopeful that the rising trend in revenue collection will help meet or even surpass the target by the end of the fiscal year.
