Federal Democratic Madhesi Front to be announced today

KATHMANDU: Various Tarai-focused parties are set to announce the Federal Democratic Madhesi Front today at 3 pm at Baneshwor Banquet.

The alliance will include seven political parties, both inside and outside the federal parliament.

Initially, plans were made to form the front with eight parties, but the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) led by Ashok Rai has opted out.

The front will now comprise JSP Nepal (Upendra Yadav), Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal (Mahantha Thakur), Janamat Party (Dr. CK Raut), and Nagarik Unmukti Party (Resham Lal Chaudhary) from the parliamentary parties.

Additionally, Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal (Rajendra Mahato), Janata Pragatisheel Party (Hridayesh Tripathi), and Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (Brishesh Chandra Lal) will also be part of the front.

Sources indicate that the front will have a rotational leadership, with Upendra Yadav taking charge in the first phase after its formal announcement.
