Balen targets KP Oli again, calls UML cadres corrupt

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has once again launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Taking to Facebook on Monday, Balen accused the KP Oli-led government of cultivating delusions, sarcastically suggesting that it deserves an honorary doctorate in deception.

“If PhDs were awarded for cultivating delusions, this government would certainly qualify,” Balen wrote, listing six examples to support his claim.

Despite his sharp criticism, Balen clarified that he is not an enemy of Oli but a development partner.

“Prime Minister KP Oli, we are not your enemies; we are partners in development. If you want, we can even acknowledge that all the development projects we undertook happened during your tenure,” he wrote.

However, Balen challenged Oli to demonstrate genuine leadership by setting aside biases and truly collaborating for development.

Balen accused UML cadres of being corrupt and insisted that no amount of political pressure would make him back down.

“No matter how much you spread delusions, we will not bow down to your corrupt cadres. Impose as many blockades on Kathmandu Metropolitan City as you want; it won’t change our resolve,” he declared.

Emphasizing the need for good governance, Balen stated that the fight against corruption is the country’s most urgent priority.

Balen asserted that he is prepared to confront anyone in his fight for good governance, refusing to make compromises.

“I am ready to fight anyone for good governance, but I will not make compromises. I will ensure that good governance is established,” he concluded.
