KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has called for enhancing the study and research of cultures and heritages.
Releasing a book ‘Tangible Cultural Heritages from Hanumandhoka Durbar’ written by Prof Dr Som Prasad Khatiwada on Monday, Minister Pandey said conclusion about culture and heritages should be drawn based on studies and research.
Impractical conclusions could end up with problems.
Minister Pandey appreciated the new book by Prof Dr Khatiwada by saying that it has unveiled the tangible cultural heritages of Hanumandhoka Durbar in an extended and broader range.
Minister Pandey viewed that Nepal was an open museum with diverse natural and cultural heritages.
Stating that heritages were the vital treasures, Minister Pandey said that conservation of water, forests and herbs like natural heritages was needed and academic discourses were needed for such efforts.
Prof Dr Khatiwada stated that the book has incorporated the issues of 11 temples inside the Hanumandhoka Durbar premise and 19 temples outside.
The book includes the arts, sculptures and other treasures of those 30 temples.
