Results of reform in community schools are being seen: DPM Singh

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has said the results of efforts to improve the standard of education in community schools in his election constituency have started to be seen.

Addressing the 77th anniversary programme of Padmakanya Vidyashram Secondary School here today, DPM Singh expressed happiness saying the community schools in Kathmandu Constituency No 1 have become successful in imparting quality education.

He said he has been emphasizing on improving the physical infrastructure and educational quality of community schools in the constituency ever since he was elected from this constituency in the Constituent Assembly election of 2007.

“We, the three tiers of the government, have together done our best in terms of construction of physical infrastructure at community schools in Kathmandu-1 to improve their standard. The community schools in our constituency are at a par with the private schools,” the lawmaker from the constituency said on the occasion.

He also pledged to fulfill the required role as a people’s representative for further making the community schools effective.

According to DPM Singh, students in community schools were good in extra-curricular activities along with their academic performance.

DPM Singh stated that the elected people’s representatives at the federal, provincial and local level were working together to make the school even better.
