Madhesh Chief Minister Yadav to seek vote of confidence on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav has announced that he will seek a vote of confidence on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Janakpur on Tuesday, Yadav said he received the Supreme Court’s order through the Office of the Province Chief at 3 PM, which directed him to obtain a vote of confidence within 24 hours. Accordingly, he informed that the vote has been scheduled for 2 PM on Wednesday.

He stated that he has already written to the Provincial Assembly to arrange the vote and expressed full commitment to comply with the Supreme Court’s directive.

Yadav claimed that he is confident of securing a majority, saying that all political parties are expected to cooperate during the confidence vote. He added that discussions have already been held with various parties and that the responses have been positive.

Recalling that the CPN-UML had supported other parties in the past, he said he believes those parties will now extend support to the UML.
