NC Reform Campaign locks Sanepa party office in protest

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Reform Campaign (under-40) broke through the security cordon and reached the gate of the Nepali Congress party headquarters in Sanepa today, locking the office in protest.

The group forced its way past police security at the entrance and staged a demonstration outside the party office gate.

Protesters demanded a regular general convention and proper youth representation. After locking the gate, they sat outside while chanting slogans such as, “If a regular general convention cannot be held, the current central committee should be dissolved! The sentiments of ordinary Nepali Congress members and youth should not be ignored!”

Following the previous Gen-Z movement, which included the burning of a party office, security at the Nepali Congress headquarters has been tightened, and entry is now restricted and verified.
