Landslide blocks Kantilokpath



HETAUDA: Transport services have been disrupted on Kantilokpath, the road connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu.

Traffic in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-11, Ghattepakha, was blocked due to a rockfall caused by incessant rains, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, spokesperson for the District Police Office.

He added that dozers and personnel have been deployed to clear the landslide and reopen the road.

Similarly, the Hetauda-Kulekhani-Sisneri-Dakshinkali road, another route connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu, remains closed. The road has been blocked since Saturday evening by a landslide in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-3, Jyamire, Makawanpur. Vehicles traveling in both directions are currently stranded due to the blockage.

Deputy Superintendent Bogati said that clearance work is ongoing, but wet soil and falling rocks continue to hinder progress. Authorities have urged commuters to use alternative routes, as it may take some time before the road becomes fully operational.
