Montha cyclone gradually weakening, clear weather expected

KATHMANDU: The Montha cyclone, which originated in the Bay of Bengal, is gradually weakening, though clear weather conditions are yet to return across the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the cyclone had affected weather patterns nationwide, causing intermittent rainfall and cloud cover in several regions.

The Department has forecast light rain and snowfall in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the hilly regions are expected to remain partly cloudy.

Currently, both the westerly wind system and a low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea are influencing Nepal’s weather. As a result, skies will remain generally cloudy over Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces during the day, with partial cloudiness expected in some hilly areas and Madhes Province. Other parts of the country are likely to experience clearer conditions.
