Floods and landslides block roads in 13 districts across Nepal

KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall has triggered floods and landslides, blocking roads in 13 districts across Nepal, police authorities said.

According to the Nepal Police Headquarters, landslides have obstructed parts of the Koshi Highway in Bhojkhola and Makalu rural municipalities of Sankhuwasabha. Sections of the Pasang Lhamu Highway in Gosaikunda rural municipality and the Galchi–Trishuli–Mailung road are also closed.

Other affected routes include Dhorpatan–Saljhundi, Beni–Darbang, the Bheri Corridor, and sections of the Karnali Highway in Jajarkot, including Jajarkot–Dolpa, which remain impassable.

Security personnel have been deployed to clear the roads. In addition, eight roads across the country are operating under one-way traffic due to flood and landslide damage. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution while traveling in affected areas.
