DHARAN: An 18-year-old youth died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on motorcycle collision at Pachira, Duhabi Municipality-2, Sunsari, on Friday night.
According to the Sunsari District Police Office, Nazamuddin Miya of Gadhi Rural Municipality-2 died after the motorcycle (Ko 6 Pa 5241) he was riding collided with another (Ko 32 Pa 1504) at around 9:10 p.m.
Miya, critically injured, was rushed to Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar, where he died at 10:30 p.m., police spokesperson DSP Yograj Khatiwada said.
Pillion riders Sabad Alam, 17, and Bishwajit Chaudhary, 22, sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at Birat Nursing Home.
Police said they are searching for Mahesh Chaudhary, the rider of the other motorcycle, who fled the scene. An investigation is underway.
