Moderate to heavy rainfall expected today



KATHMANDU: Monsoon winds are currently influencing the country. According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the monsoon low-pressure trough is positioned slightly north of its usual location.

This afternoon, the sky will be mostly cloudy across the country. Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in several hilly areas, including Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as some parts of the Terai region.

There is also a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two locations within Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, cloudy conditions will continue nationwide. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some parts of the other provinces. Heavy rain is also possible at one or two sites in Koshi province.

The Division has advised the public and relevant authorities to remain updated on weather reports, as heavy rainfall could occur at a few locations in Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
