Rain expected in most parts of the country

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon winds are currently influencing weather patterns across the country, with the monsoon low-pressure trough positioned near its average location. As a result, rain is expected in most parts of Nepal.

Today, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country, including Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rainfall is likely, often accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The Division has also warned of the possibility of heavy rain in one or two locations, especially in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Additionally, some high hilly and mountainous areas may experience light to moderate rain mixed with snowfall.

Residents and travelers are advised to remain cautious of potential weather hazards such as landslides, flooding, and reduced visibility during this period of increased rainfall.

Authorities have also urged farmers to take necessary precautions to protect their crops.

The monsoon season is expected to continue with fluctuating intensity over the coming days, so people are encouraged to stay updated with weather forecasts.
