UML calls parliamentary party meeting to discuss budget

KATHMANDU; The ruling CPN-UML has called a meeting of its Parliamentary Party to discuss the recently presented budget.

UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula said the meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the UML Parliamentary Party Office, Lotse Hall, Baneshwor.

The discussion will focus on current political developments and the fiscal year 2025/26 budget presented in parliament. Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel presented the budget on Jestha 15 (May 29).

Although opposition parties, including the Maoist Center, allowed the government to table the budget, they have warned they will obstruct the next parliamentary session unless Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak resigns over the visit visa controversy.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3.
