Nepali women’s team to play friendly against Thailand today



KATHMANDU: The Nepali national women’s football team, currently preparing for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, is set to play a friendly match against Thailand today.

The match will kick off at 4:30 PM local time in Thailand. Earlier, the Nepali team faced Thailand in a closed practice match at an indoor stadium, where Nepal lost 1-0. Thailand is currently ranked 47th in the FIFA women’s world rankings.

Following today’s friendly, Nepal will shift focus to the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Nepal has been placed in Group F alongside Laos, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan. The team will face Laos on June 29, Sri Lanka on July 2, and Uzbekistan on July 5.
