Cloudy skies and rain expected across the country today



KATHMANDU: The weather will remain generally cloudy across the country today (Monday) with rain expected in several areas, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

According to the Division, this afternoon skies will be partly to generally cloudy nationwide.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two locations elsewhere.

Likewise, light rain or snowfall is also possible at a few spots in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, conditions will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is again likely in hilly parts of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at isolated places in other areas.

Light rain or snowfall is also expected at one or two places in the high hills and mountains.

Meteorologists said that western and central Nepal are currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, while most areas in Koshi Province are experiencing the effects of monsoon winds.
