Families of Suresh and Sabin to receive Rs 1 Million each



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to provide Rs 1 million each to the families of two individuals who lost their lives during last Friday’s royalist protest in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

As per the ministerial decision by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, journalist Suresh Rajak and transport worker Sabin Maharjan’s families will receive the financial assistance.

“The decision was made at the ministerial level to provide Rs 1 million to each family as relief,” said Lekhak’s press advisor, Sher Bahadur Singh.

Rajak, a journalist with Avenues Television, died in a fire inside the Marble House building in Tinkune during the protest led by Durga Prasai and Navaraj Subedi.

Meanwhile, Maharjan, a transport worker from Kirtipur, was fatally shot. Their post-mortem reports have now been released.
