KATHMANDU: The postmortem report of journalist Suresh Rajak, who was found dead during last Friday’s royalist protests, confirms that he died due to burns and was not shot.

According to Dr. Gopal Chaudhary, head of the forensic medicine department at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, the autopsy revealed no bullet wounds.

Speaking to Khabarhub, Dr. Chaudhary noted that initial speculation suggested he was shot before being set on fire. However, the examination found smoke inhalation in his lungs, indicating that he was alive when the fire occurred.

Following the release of the report, Rajak’s family has agreed to receive his body, which will be handed over shortly.
