NEPSE gains 25.31 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a rise on Wednesday, recovering after a decline on Tuesday.

The index climbed by 25.31 points, marking a 0.94% increase, and closed at 2,701.48 points.

A total of 1,442,683 shares were traded throughout the day, amounting to a transaction volume of Rs 5.44 billion. During the market session, share prices of 166 companies increased, while 78 companies saw a decline. No company’s stock remained unchanged.

In total, 318 companies engaged in 53,884 transactions. Sector-wise, 11 out of 13 groups saw gains, while two sectors—production and processing (-1.43%) and non-life insurance (-0.25%)—declined.

The highest-performing sector was trading, surging by 9.49% to 4,880.01 points, while the microfinance sector saw the lowest gain at 0.12%. Other notable increases included the finance sector (3.26%), investment (1.39%), and banking (0.61%).
