KATHMANDU: The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for the academic year has successfully concluded, according to the National Examination Board (NEB), Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi.
The nationwide examination, which began on March 20, was conducted at 2,079 examination centers across Nepal.
This year, 514,071 students appeared for the SEE, including 39,600 in Kathmandu (the highest) and 43 in Manang (the lowest). Additionally, 29 students took the SEE at a center in Japan, while students from Central Jail, Dailekh prisons, and a juvenile correctional home in Bhaktapur also participated.
Examination Controller Nandalal Poudel stated that this year’s SEE was conducted peacefully and with dignity. He added that some invigilators involved in misconduct were dismissed to ensure fairness.
The SEE results are expected to be published by June 21.
To pass, students must score a minimum of 35 marks in each subject.
Last year, only 48 percent of students passed, but the board aims to increase the pass rate to 70 percent this year.
