NA Session: lawmakers express concern on various issues



KATHMANDU: National Assembly (NA) lawmaker Gomadevi Timilsina has demanded the government ensure prompt justice to victims of cooperatives fraud.

Airing her views in a meeting of the upper house today, the lawmaker asserted that no one either it is leader or political cadres or someone else should not be protected the charge of the misappropriation of cooperative funds.

Doubting the government’s initiation to address the issue, she said the number of victims stood large and they need prompt justice.

Durga Gurung called for an advanced study for a copper extraction in Mugu and the reoperation of the industry based on Karmarong rural municipality-1 in the district.

Mugu used to extract raw copper, made various materials and supply to Tibet and various parts of the country in the past.

It has remained closed since 2024 BS at the direction of the government, she apprised the House, insisting on its reoperation.

Nar Bahadur Bista expressed his concern over the multiple postponement of the 10th National Games said to be held in Karnali. The event has been rescheduled for taking place from June 6 from its earlier schedule April 5.

Though again we are not sure that it will commence on June 6,” he said, urging the government to assure of the happening of the event on the announced date.
