Prakash Man hints at presidential bid for Nepali Congress

SURKHET: Nepali Congress (NC) leader, Deputy Prime Minister, and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has hinted at vying for the post of the next president of the party.

As speculation grows within the party about the race to select the new president, Singh has made it clear that he will not step back under any circumstances.

During a press conference organized by the Press Union in Surkhet today, Singh confirmed that he is a contender for the NC president’s position.

“I am not willing to settle for anything lower than the position I currently hold,” he said, emphasizing that leadership changes should align with the party statute, prioritizing institutional development over personal interests.

Singh reflected on his political journey, which began during his student days, noting that his experience, from the local level to party leadership, has equipped him to take on additional responsibilities.

He reiterated his commitment to strengthening the party’s organizational structure and his determination to build a more institutionalized party.
