Purbanchal Cancer Hospital and Yeti Airlines team up to support cancer patients with free travel



JHAPA: Yeti Airlines Pvt. Ltd. and Purbanchal Cancer Hospital have signed an agreement to offer free air tickets to cancer patients.

The agreement was signed by Yubaraj Bista, Chief Commercial Officer of Yeti Airlines, and Durga Prasai, Chair of Purbanchal Cancer Hospital.

Dr. Birendra Yadav, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, expressed that this initiative will greatly assist cancer patients.

Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, located in Birtamode, has been serving patients for five years, providing various treatments including PET-CT scans, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery, and more.

According to Pramish Giri, the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, the free air ticket facility will be available to patients traveling from anywhere in the country for treatment, covering both their journey to the hospital and their return home.

Since its establishment, the hospital has treated 6,484 cancer patients, with breast cancer (814 cases) and lung cancer (805 cases) being the most common diagnoses in the past five years.

Additionally, the hospital has seen a significant number of patients with cervical cancer and cancers of the nose, ear, and throat.

For economically disadvantaged families, the hospital provides free treatment up to Rs 100,000 as part of the government’s medical treatment program for poor citizens.
