GUWAHATI: The five-match T20 series between Nepal ‘A’ and Assam will come to a decisive close today in Guwahati, with both sides under pressure to clinch victory in the final encounter.
On Sunday, Nepal fell short by 18 runs in the fourth match, missing the chance to secure the series with a game to spare. Chasing Assam’s target of 175, Nepal’s batting faltered, allowing the hosts to level the series 2–2.
The closely fought series has seen both teams dominate at different stages. Nepal lost the opener by 15 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method but bounced back strongly with wins in the second and third matches, by 96 runs and 9 runs respectively. Assam’s comeback victory in the fourth game has now set the stage for a winner-takes-all final.
The fifth and final match is scheduled to begin at 5 PM (local time) on Monday evening. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced it will livestream the game on its official YouTube channel.
Nepal ‘A’, captained by Anil Kumar Sah, features a mix of young talents and experienced players, including all-rounder Aadil Alam and batsman Sandeep Jora.
