Prachanda calls for action against tampering in civil service bill

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has alleged that a serious conspiracy took place during the passage of the Federal Civil Service Bill, and has called for an investigation and action against those involved.

Speaking at the central office bearers’ meeting of the Young Communist League (YCL) in Paris Danda on Tuesday, Dahal said the manipulation and interference in the bill cannot be overlooked.

“There’s been a conspiracy in the civil service bill. It’s part of a broader attempt to reverse the achievements of the people’s movement and the constitution,” said Dahal. “We are committed to investigating who tampered with the bill and ensuring they are held accountable.”

He warned that this incident was part of an ongoing trend by regressive forces to undermine progressive gains. “We previously had to halt our organizational campaigns to resist such threats. The same regressive tendencies are still active,” he stated.

Dahal also urged the YCL to stand firm on the party’s ideology, policy, and statutes, particularly those passed during the party’s eighth general convention. He emphasized that in the face of intensifying class struggles, it is essential to strengthen the revolutionary line through unity and ideological clarity.

He concluded by announcing that the YCL will be mobilized more actively in the party’s upcoming organizational campaign, which will begin after the monsoon concludes and the Mid-Hill Highway campaign is completed.
