Citizenship Amendment Bill tabled in National Assembly



KATHAMANDU: The message from the House of Representatives regarding the Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024 has been tabled in the National Assembly.

During today’s meeting of the National Assembly, Secretary Dr. Surendra Aryal presented the message before the assembly.

Likewise, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal read out letters received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers concerning the delegation of ministerial duties.

Chairperson Dahal informed the assembly that since Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is currently on an official visit to Spain, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has been assigned to oversee the PM’s daily administrative responsibilities during his absence.

Additionally, as Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel is attending a program in Thailand, his duties have been temporarily assigned to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, according to Chairperson Dahal.

Several other letters regarding ministerial responsibilities were also read out during the session.
