KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on Bhutan today in their final group-stage match of the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup. The match will be played at the Selangor Turf Club Cricket Ground in Malaysia, starting at 7:45 AM (local time).
Having remained unbeaten in the tournament so far, Nepal has already secured a spot in the semifinals. A win against Bhutan today would see Nepal advance as the winner of Group ‘A’.
Alongside Nepal, Singapore has also qualified for the semifinals from Group ‘A’ with six points from four matches. From Group ‘B’, hosts Malaysia and Hong Kong have secured their places in the last four.
Nepal has delivered a dominant performance in the group stage, defeating Singapore by 6 wickets, Japan by 9 wickets, and Indonesia by a massive margin of 421 runs.
The tournament features 10 teams. Group ‘A’ includes Nepal, Singapore, Bhutan, Indonesia, and Japan, while Group ‘B’ comprises Malaysia, Hong Kong, Maldives, Thailand, and Myanmar.
The semifinal matches are scheduled for Thursday, with the final set to take place on Saturday, July 6.
